Steamed Mussels

Picked up some fresh mussels from the market today and my my were they delish! Mussels are pretty cheap too, only $4 a pound so any seafood lovers out there this is a fast little meal that feels so indulgent! Recipes abound online. I steamed mine in a cup of white wine, 2 shallots, and 4 cloves garlic and a bay leaf. Just heat up the broth till its boiling, add mussels, cover and steam for 3/5 minutes and voila! Add some ghee to the broth and your fish spice of choice. The alcohol in the wine burns off but if you don’t like that you could always sub chicken broth.
